Library Structure Planning

Before you set up your library structure in the Catalog Manager, review how the workgroup modeling process works in your organization. To help you review your workgroup modeling process, answer the following questions:

• How are erwin� Data Modeler models moved from the development library to the production library?
• How are the approval process for moving models documented and enforced?
• How are erwin� Data Modeler models merged into the enterprise model and who controls this process?
• Do you use versioning to record the milestones of models?
• Who has what type of access to each library?
• Are erwin� Data Modeler models generated to multiple target environments (such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle)?
• How are you warehousing your data?
